Setting Up Your Blueriver Email in Windows Mail

Windows Mail is the email client that is integrated with Windows Vista. Below are the instructions for setting up Windows Mail to check your Blueriver email.

Click on the Start button and in the box directly above it now that reads "Start Search", type "Windows Mail" without the quotations and press the enter key on your keyboard.

Once the Windows Mail program displays click on "Tools" at the top and choose "Accounts" from the list. In the Internet Accounts list, choose "Add" and select "Email Account" and then click on "Next".

Now, enter in your "Display name" (most people usually use a first and last name here and some choose both or even nicknames) and click "Next".

Now type in your full email address which is your username and then "@blueriver.net" (for example: your_username@blueriver.net) and click "Next" again.

Now select "POP3" from the drop down menu if it is not already selected. Now you will need to enter in the "Incoming" and "Outgoing" email server settings which are both the exact same thing: "pop.blueriver.net" without the quotations. Then click "Next".

Now, where it asks for your "E-mail username" type in your username (The first part of the e-mail address without the "@blueriver.net" on the end) and put your password in the "Password" box and click "Next" again.

Click the check box that reads "Do not download my e-mail at this time" so that it is checked. You can now click on the "Finish" button at the bottom and your Windows Mail account is now complete.

You are now ready to use Windows Mail as your email client.

Be sure that you are connected to the Internet before you attempt to send and/or receive email.
