Computers
& Christianity Part Two ![]()

Well, now is PART II !! NOTE: THIS IS FOR PEOPLE WHO REALLY UNDERSTAND COMPUTERS AND LINGO!!!!! Recently a girl that works with my wife sent home a computer oddly enough for this story, it was a GATEWAY) that had a problem. From my understanding at the time, it was a 'mouse' problem as they had bought a wireless mouse and perhaps it would be a simple fix. Nope.. It turned out that once the computer was being booted up, it wanted to boot to SAFE MODE COMMAND PROMPT only. (How NEAT this will turn out to be in my MIND 3 days later!!) I tried my 'usual' fixes by going ahead into the command prompt only mode and did the Scanreg /restore and such commands.. FAILURE on all of them!! Then I finally at one moment was forced to do a Scandisk and I SAW it! The hard drive obviously had been Scandisked before and had BAD spots marked on it. Any old DOS computer user (or computer tech) knows that 'old' BAD spots on the hard drive means eventual death of the hard drive and you might as well replace it. Now I have dealt with hard drives in the past that had BAD spots and used F-disk (fixed disk utility) to work around the bad areas. Every time I have used F-disk until this time it has always allowed me to do this, with the knowledge that eventual death of the drive still loomed, but I would still get "some" usage out of the drive for less important things if I so chose.) But this go around (which by the way I told the owner
it was time for a new hard drive) I couldn't resist the challenge of TRYING
to SAVE this hard drive for a little longer!
All this time I had been trying to do this with the Windows 98 F-disk. During the Win98 f-disk I succeeded in trying to getting it DONE, but had to format the drives. The format utility found areas on the drive that were corrupt and tried to recover those areas.. I gave it THREE days of letting it run (3 days y'all) and it finally failed. Then I tried the DOS 6.2 F-disk to run up against a
blank wall...
But.. it was THEN that it hit me how much we all REJECT Gods commands.. He has partitioned our lives since we were born. Each part of our life is in SECTIONS just like partitions on a hard drive. Our PRIMARY partition is our LIFE, BREATH, SOUL.. Our SECONDARY partition contains the REST of our life! Logical Drives of: Childhood,
(On a hard drive that would be drives D: E: F: and G:) Any partition of our life can fail! That failure can result in the death of all the other areas too! Once a partition FAILS.. A guiding hand CAN either fix the area or can't! (In a Windows environment SCANDISK.EXE does such a thing and marks the BAD spots) (In LIFE, God checks you out and FORGIVES the BAD spots and FIXES you to where you can continue to live). The drive HAS to respond in a 'positive/negative' way to HELP the "guiding hand" fix the BAD areas or else it will all fail. In this case I have given up on the hard drive. Sadly to say..... That is what GOD is FORCED to do also when WE also fail to respond in a positive/negative way.. When all he hears is the 'click click click' of our hearts.... And nothing more... It is time to pull the plug and try to salvage another computer (soul) and shake his head and go on. He IS the greatest computer expert there is! Don't let yourself be the NON-Responding 'click click click' while you still have a breath to breathe! |
