This website pretty much reflects my hobbies and interests. But I figured I should have a page about who I am.
My name is Neisha . How do you think it's pronounced? I will bet you're wrong. Actually it's pronounced like Tricia with an 'N'.  Having a maiden name of Siltz didn't help anything. I would say about 1% of the people who have attempted my name have gotten it right. I believe there is an unwritten law that states "No person shall actually look at the letters of Neisha's name before attempting to pronounce it". I truthfully have no idea how my parents came up with it. I was told my Mom heard it in a dream. Who knows!? My entire life I assumed it was a rare and unique name. I was shocked at the outcome when I typed it into a search engine and received almost 1000 matches! My Dad wanted my middle name to be Dawn because of his love of the morning sun.
I grew up in Edwardsville, a small town in Indiana. It was nice since my entire family lived very close. My grandparents were my neighbors and I feel so fortunate that I was able to spend so much time with them. Our home was situated on a nursery property, so I grew up around flowers and MaMaw's garden. I graduated from Floyd Central,  a stuck up-preppy school, in 1992. I excelled in art and German, both of which I still continue today.  I spent a year at Sullivan before I decided to devote my time to being a mother. I have a brother, Dave, and a sister, Dina. Dave is my computer coach. Without his help I don't think I could've done so much with this site. Dina is definitely my best friend. We work together and talk/email almost everyday. We've helped raise each other's children and plan on sharing a big old Victorian one day when we're crazy old loons with 50 cats.  All 3 of us have a special relationship. The loss of our parents has brought us closer together and we know how much we need each other. I thank God everyday for them.
Chris and I have 2 children. A daughter and a son. Both of them have inherited an artful eye. I can usually be found sitting in front of this big gray box or traveling to renaissance faires. Although Chris says my hobby is to collect new hobbies. I enjoy creating memory albums, painting, drawing, jigsaw puzzles and decorating. I collect anything castle related as well as glass (marbles, paperweights, unusual blown glass and bottles. )I spend a lot of time spoiling my cats and cursing the neighbor's dogs. How ironic for the "Dog Lady" to move in next door to the "Cat Lady". I love hiking and camping, although knee injuries have dampened my hiking and climbing abilities. I love many different types of music. Celtic, Classic rock, Classical, and Bluegrass are among my favorites. My tastes range from Simon & Garfunkel and Cat Stevens to Metallica and Ozzy Osbourne. I love the Beatles, Elton John, CSN,  Blues Travelers, Three Dog Night, and Nancy Griffith. I'm a big fan of Celtic music...celtic fiddle to be precise. 2 of my fav fiddlers are Kathleene Keane and Natalie MacMaster. Through the faire circuit, The Minstrels of Mayhem(Ahem), Old Soles, Craig of Farrington, Cantiga, Thomas Nuendel, Minstrel Woode and Tullamore are not only some of my favorite musicians, but many have become friends over the years. My favorite song in existence is 'Sandusky' by Uncle Tupelo. As for favorite movies... Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Dogma, Brain Candy, Big Trouble, and Rat Race. I think the Python crew are the most talented group of guys to ever hit comedy. I'm also fond of Eddie Izzard and Kids in the Hall.
Well, that's me.
