The Lanning House Bed & Breakfast is locally owned and operated by Mrs. Jeannette Hart. In essence, the lifetime estate will be designated to the Washington County Historical Society at a later date. Designed in the 1800's, the Lanning House is a beautiful civil war mansion that sits in the peaceful tranquility of Salem. Located across the street from the Depot Railway museum, and less than a 5 minute walk away from the Steven's Museum, the Lanning House Bed and Breakfast is an enjoyable, efficient, and exciting resting point to the day. Prices range from $45-$65, call 883-3484 for reservations.
The museum also rents our meeting area for a variety of programs. Well equipped with two refrigerators, two stoves with range, microwave, three coffee makers, two sinks, 18 electrical outlets, one co-ed restroom facility and one set of restrooms just outside the door, our meeting room is the perfect place for business meetings, baby showers, wedding anniversaries, wedding showers, receptions, and any other occasion. The costs for renting the meeting room include a $20 set-up fee for our custodian, and $65 for a 6 hour period, or $85 to reserve the room all day. Reservations are necessary.
