In
the summer of 2006, we had Mr. Boceiphus put to sleep. He had developed a respiratory
problem that I could no longer allow to hurt him. My sister went with me and
was my support. He went very peacefully and was laid to rest next to Cooper
and Gueneviere. He was big sweetie and it took a bit to get used to him not
being on my back when I slept. :(
Bociephus was such
a cutie. He was given to me as a birthday present from my sister. My husband
made it very clear that 5 cats were enough. So, I brought him home in the bird
cage and said he was a domesticated Uruguayan parrot. We had a hard time finding
a name for him, It took 2 days of calling him cute widdle baby to figure out
his personality. We finally decided on Bociephus. Quickly his personality
fit his name...well if there is such a thing as acting like a Bociephus.
The "rest of the family" weren't too thrilled when I first got him, but he was
soon loved by all....except when he tried to wake them up by biting their neck.
I would have to say the strangest thing he did was drink water with his paw.
It took him 10 minutes to quench his thirst because he refused to stick his
face in the bowl. He'd scoop up a few drops with his paw and lick it off.....over
and over and over. It was very amusing to watch.

In October of 2006 we lost our Meeser Bedimere. He was a good cat and I miss
him very much. Out of respect for my beautiful baby, I ask that if you have
dogs, you keep them on your property and limit their roaming....especially if
you have 3 or more. Thank you.
Bedimere
was a pretty cool cat, although he also fit into the most irritating. He had
the belief that if he went outside, waited 5 minutes, and scratched to come
back in, that new and more exciting food would appear inside. When there was
no new food, he remembered that going outside would make new food appear so
he would cry and cry the most pathetic meow I'd ever heard until we gave in
and let him out, knowing full well he was only wanting out so new food would
appear. It was a continuing process throughout the day, every day. If this plan
failed, and we refused to let him out, he turns to affection. Whether he was
replacing food with petting, or he believed petting would bring new food, I
never quite figured out his mind set on this one. Later Bedimere also
developed a strange curiosity for water. A toilet flushing would wake him from
sound sleep and he'd comes running as if it was the most exciting thing he'd
ever seen. Then his interests turned to sinks. He would try to catch the water
before it'd go down the drain. Once he realized it wasn't going to work he just
turned himself upside down and let the water run all over his face. I'd never
seen anything quite like it.
